Recently, I was in Nordstrom trying to find a good pair of jeans that was on sale for a reasonable price (for those who don’t know, Nordstrom does have a more reasonable section, it is not all designer stuff), when I saw a salesgirl wearing the cutest sweater! I figured it was most likely from the store and decided when I finished the depressing task of trying on a bunch of jeans that would fit me because all mine at home are too small right now, I would ask her where it was from. Once I tried on my clothes and exited the change room with my head held low and only a toque and polka dot culottes in hand because nothing else looked good (thanks to gaining way too much weight), I walked over to the cash area and hoped that there would be good news that her sweater was recently purchased.
I told her how much I loved her light grey turtleneck sweater and she graciously said thank you and told me it was actually super long. She had it tucked in to a skirt and told me it went past the hips and had two slits in the side. It was very oversized for a size small that she was wearing, which made me excited seeing as I have gained weight and have this weird thing about sizes (even though I get most things a bit oversized it discouraging sometimes). I asked if it was from Nordstrom and she said it was from H&M and was only $30! I immediately went over to the H&M in the mall and tried it on in a darker grey.
I had the idea to wear it as a dress, if it was long enough, with my black thigh high boots from ALDO for a night out with my girlfriends. It was just long enough with the side slits that it could be worn as a dress (so long as I wore shorts under, just in case) in a medium, so I purchased the medium in charcoal grey and also got the light grey in a size small. I spent the entire weekend in them as they were probably the most comfortable sweaters I have ever worn! I wish they came in more colours, unless they did and I didn’t see them, I could live in these sweaters!
I wore the charcoal grey sweater out for girls night and it was a hit. My girlfriends all loved it and I was getting compliments from a few strangers as well! It boosted my confidence and I was extremely comfortable all night. Although he only downside was that it was a bit more warmer than I would have liked, but seeing as it is transitioning to winter here in Vancouver and I am always cold, it wasn’t so bad.
The next day I wore the light grey one in a size small with leggings and my black leather Vans to my friend’s daughters first birthday party. Again the sweater was well received for the way it looked and for how comfortable it seemed. The birthday party was at the couples home and I felt it was the perfect top for it because it was easy to pair with the rest of the outfit. To be honest, I did not want to take the sweater off when I got home as it was so comfortable.
I highly recommend going over to H&M and getting one of these amazingly comfortable and stylish sweaters. They also have many more styles to choose from of different sweaters if you are not into the turtleneck look.
Before you go over there and purchase one of these beauties (if that’s what you are going to do), head over to my social media accounts and give them a follow for updates, photos, and videos.
